Enchantivism for Geek Girls

Avril is working toward creating a space to foster re-enchantment, especially for the geek girls of the world. Avril was born in England and grew up with stories of fairies at the bottom of the garden and used to play pretend in the ruins of a medieval castle. She emigrated to Nova Scotia Canada, and then Southern California as a child however, and grew up largely with a scientific worldview, graduating from the Hogwarts of her day, the University of California (at San Diego in her case).

After college she worked in the then nascent biotechnology field, being one of a small group of initial employees at one of the key trailblazers in the field Hybritech Inc., working on creating diagnostics for the Clinical Chemistry market with the then new technology of monoclonal antibodies. As a counterpoint to her work in science and technology, she has been an avid seeker after the mysteries of the universe through spiritual teachings, both traditional, and more recent manifestations.
